As our fall athletic season wraps up, it’s time we look back on September’s athlete of the month.
Coach Depew had no hesitation in spotlighting the girls varsity soccer team, where Carla Almodovar Moreno stands out as a player. Almodovar has had sixteen goals this season and five assists. She always gives 100% and shows up consistently. Her effort, intensity, and leadership make her a valuable part of the team.
When Coach Coleman was asked about Carla as a player, she says:
“Carla has been an absolutely outstanding player for the Varsity Girls Soccer team this season, scoring many goals, assisting, and showing up daily with a positive and fiery attitude. Coach Aliya and I loved working with her as she is kind, aware, adaptable, and so kind-hearted. She has the ability to help others with soccer skills and challenges, and she does not back down from a challenge on the field or off.”
