The Linsly Line Athletes of the Month for March are Carson Gessler and Reagan Van Scyoc. They have both led their teams in successful seasons so far, and have shown to be exceptional leaders for their team.
The Linsly Line Female Athlete of the Month for March is Reagan Van Scyoc. Regan is a junior, and has been playing Linsly Softball since her freshman year. She has started off the season strong, and shows promise for the rest of the season. Reagan has known softball since she was five years old, and she loves how it makes her stronger. She also enjoys the competitive nature and team environment. She says that this season has brought the team closer together, and she is thankful for the support that her team brings. Being a junior, Reagan has shared many fond memories with her team. Her favorite memory is playing Martins Ferry freshman year, because she hit two triples and shared her success with the team. For all of her hard work, Reagan has earned the responsibility of team captain this season. She is proud of this accomplishment and is determined to help the team improve every day. The Linsly Line Male Athlete of the Month for March is Carson Gessler. Carson is a senior on the baseball team, and has been playing since his freshman year. He has loved baseball since he was two years old, and has many fond memories of growing up playing the game. Carson has also golfed at Linsly since his freshman year, and claims that although they are both competitive, baseball is more intense while golf is more composed. When reflecting on his previous years with the team, Carson claims that his favorite memory is going to Vero beach during his junior year season. With this year being his last at Linsly, he doesn’t want the season to end. Still, he is determined to help his team and set an example for his younger teammates. His greatest accomplishment in his high school career is hitting a home run this season against Madonna. This accomplishment has earned him Athlete of the Month.
