Decades of Dedication: Mrs. Martin

This quarter, The Linsly Line is proud to recognize Mrs. Martin, a dedicated social studies teacher who has been a part of the Linsly community for twenty years! She teaches AP and regular Human Geography, Comparative Government, and Fighting Oppression, fighting oppression being her favorite. Mrs. Martin enjoys exploring new topics during this course that she does not have the opportunity to cover in other classes. This allows for a unique experience for all of her students. In addition to her teaching role, she also serves as a dorm parent. Mrs. Martin describes this responsibility as “fun stress,” as it is difficult to manage twenty-seven girls and their needs, ensuring they are “happy, safe, and healthy.” Despite this, she has loved meeting new students from all around the world!

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Martin loves to travel; France and Israel have been her favorite destinations thus far! She is also very involved in volunteering at her local church, alongside her family! Mr. and Mrs. Martin met on campus and got married while both working at the Linsly School. They have two children: Audrey, a second grader, and John, who is in kindergarten. Audrey and John enjoy living on campus, where they have the opportunity to look up to many older students!

The Linsly Community thanks Mrs. Martin for her dedication and passionate teaching over the years, and for creating a welcoming environment for all students!
