Graphic Design Students Compete: Most Interesting Photos of Linsly

As fall settled in, graphic design classes taught by Melissa Leone, dean of the upper school, competed in a friendly photography competition. Given the task of finding the “most interesting” photo, the classes went out to explore the Linsly campus to find impressive and unusual subjects for their entries. A wide range of photos including landscapes, close-ups, and portraits were submitted, all showcasing a compelling part of Linsly’s buildings, campus, and student body.

In Ms. Leone’s second period class, the first prize winner was Mecca Collins. Her photo, shown below, displays a view of the autumn leaves out of a decoratively painted window sill in the art building.

Also winning in the second-period graphic design class were Mara Cartwright and Carly Stewart, who tied for second place. Cartwright’s photo shows an interesting view of a drawing model, also located in the art building.

Stewart’s photograph showcases some of the beautiful flora on Linsly’s campus, and captures intricate details such as water droplets on leaves.

In the fifth period, Landin Blakely was the solo prize winner. His image, also shot on Linsly’s campus, displays a close up of fallen leaves as well as capturing many other trees with autumn colors.
