National Honors Society members decided to hold an initiative that benefited the Wheeling Soup Kitchen, because after a few Wednesdays of volunteering, it came to the students’ attention that their vacuum was broken. Therefore, the students decided to brainstorm ideas on how to raise money in order to donate a new one. They made it their mission because they knew that the soup kitchen does a phenomenal job giving back to the community everyday. Students Rocco D’Aquila, Reese Maroney, Elaina Pusz, Mackenzie Ghaphery, and Lili Blakely helped create two baskets, and teachers Mrs. Zatezalo and Mrs. Ratkiewicz helped create two more baskets that were donated to the school. Members of the National Honors Society and the Linsly community came together to help better the Wheeling Soup Kitchen through these gift baskets, and it was a success! They surpassed their goal and are now able to provide the Wheeling Soup Kitchen with a new vacuum! National Honor Society members would like to thank everyone who donated and helped them reach their goal!
