This month, The Linsly Line continues to pick two student-athletes who go above and beyond in their sport. This month, Tessa Moore and Carter Remp have earned this well-deserved title of being the December Athletes of the Month.
Our female athlete of the month, Tessa Moore, is a senior this year and has played for Linsly Hockey since middle school. This year, Tessa was elected hockey team captain, making her the first female hockey captain in Linsly history. Next fall, Tessa is taking her talents to the next level and will be playing D1 hockey for Saint Michael’s College.
Tessa explains her mindset for this season, knowing that next fall she will be playing D1 women’s hockey, “I’m so excited, but I know that I’m going to have to work hard, I have to be eating healthy, getting the right amount of sleep, because every preparation counts.”
Tessa could not be more enthusiastic and passionate about her sport and seeing it is extraordinary.
Our male athlete of the month, Carter Remp, is also a senior this year and this is his second year as assistant captain for Linsly Hockey, as well as being this year’s current leading goal scorer. Carter said his favorite memory from Linsly hockey was their most recent game where he scored 5 goals to contribute to the hard-earned win.
Carter describes his favorite part about the team, “I love how we know how to work and we know how to play.”
It is obvious how much both athletes care for their team, win or lose, and it’s special to see how they display their leadership skills on and off the ice.
The Linsly Line wishes Tessa and Carter good luck with the rest of their season, and encourages anyone to go watch the Linsly hockey team play at their home facility, WesBanco Arena!
