And that’s a strike on the bowling season!

This winter, Linsly’s men and women varsity bowling teams completed their 5th season of being an official OVAC sport. There were 23 talented boys and girls on the Varsity teams. Each player had to fight for their spot in the upcoming matches each practice, as there are only 6 spots for both boys and girls teams. The captains for the boys teams this year were Cole Bloomfield and Tommy Turak.  The girls were led by Sarah-Catherine Jackson and Arabella Andy.  In addition to being the captains, these 4 bowlers were regularly the top scorers in matches. The bowlers were lead to victory by their head coach, Mrs Cunningham, and assistant coach Mrs Coleman.

“Overall, I thought both teams performed well against some very talented students who have been bowling for much longer than most of our bowlers. There were several very close matches as well.  Only graduating 5 seniors, I look forward to a large group of returning bowlers next winter”, Coach Cunningham stated.

The highlights for the season were the girls finishing second in the Division III bracket just behind an undefeated Monroe Central team.  The boys high point of the season was placing 1st in the Baker Tournament that was held in mid-December and Linsly received their first-ever bowling trophy which was presented at the Monday Morning Meeting. The trophy is currently being displayed in the front office for anyone who would like to see it.
