This year marks the 85th anniversary of the Linsly Extravaganza. The Extravaganza is filled with talented students performing unique dances, comedy skits, singing, and much more entertainment. This tradition is one of the most looked forward to events of every year! Every Linsly student is involved in the Extravaganza whether it’s performing on the Capitol Theatre stage, or helping behind the scenes!
The assistant to the director, Ms. Cooper says, “My favorite part of the Extravaganza is seeing everyone at Linsly come together to showcase all of their talents in a variety of ways in a memorable show! Working alongside Mrs. Bond and seeing her creativity come to life is a blessing, and I look forward to ‘Extravaganza Season’ every year. No other school in this area does anything like the Extravaganza, and I believe it really sets Linsly apart from anywhere else.”
Mrs. Bond, the director, and the entire fine arts team are hard at work starting in the fall to prepare for the Extravaganza. Mrs. Bond explains that she tries to think of ideas with hobbies, movies, and concepts that are popular at the time and makes sure not to repeat any concepts that were done in recent years.
The Extravaganza has been an important part of the Linsly community for so many years! Mrs. Bond states, “The Extravaganza is very important to me because I want each student to have a positive experience. I want the faculty, staff, and administrators to be proud of what is on the stage and…I want to do justice to what Mr. Wilson, Mrs. Solonika and Mrs. Foose did for so many years. Not many schools in this country do anything similar to this tradition. I take it seriously and I try my best to have a high quality production.”
Thank you for your time and dedication to this important tradition, students and faculty! The Linsly community is eager to see tonight’s production of the 85th Linsly Extravaganza!
