As we are entering the halfway point of the first quarter, students had the opportunity to sign up for clubs! On Thursday, students attended the club fair where they were introduced to a variety of clubs and learned about what they had to offer.
The club fair is held every year and allows students to become more involved in the community. All of our clubs are student run and sponsored by a faculty member. Students are encouraged to try to be a member of at least one club to promote stepping out of their comfort zones. This year’s clubs included 2nd7, which involves reading to young kids in schools, language clubs such as French, Spanish, and German, yoga club, bake club, and many more
Junior Jess Lehrke said “I decided to join the volunteering club, so I could be more involved in the community”.
Sophomore Sophie Toma runs the bake club! This club meets twice a month during A-Block, and everyone brings a baked good to share with the other members. Sophie says, “I love baking and I wanted to start a community of people that share the same passion.” Sophie also said that joining clubs is a great way to meet new people and become more involved in the school. Her favorite part about clubs is the people.
If you did not get a chance to join a club, don’t be afraid to reach out! It’s not too late to join, and you definitely won’t regret it.
