This past week, students from the local area went to Wheeling Park High School for Math Field Day. It is a competition between all of the area’s schools, whether they are public, private, or parochial. Over 20 students from 5th grade to 9th grade represented The Linsly School.
Students participated in 5 different math events: a written exam, an estimation room, mental math approximation, mental math exact and relay questions. 6th grader Lorelai Higginbottom was awarded first alternate, 8th grader Audrey Kenamond placed third, and 8th grader Jaxon Milam placed 2nd. In the 9th grade, Ian Sincavich placed as 1st alternate and Sophie Toma placed 3rd.
Congratulations to all of these students and a big thanks to Mrs. Dodd who helped them prepare for the competition!
