New Champions: Boys and Girls Soccer Wins OVAC Title

This past Saturday, both the Linsly girls soccer team and boys soccer team competed in the OVAC Championship. The girls team played at St. Clairsville stadium against rival, Central Catholic, and won by two goals. The first goal was scored by Haylen Cook, and then shortly after Helen Bossart scored the second. Both goals were scored in the first half. The defense and the goalie, Arabella Andy, kept the shutout alive. The girls finished the game and won the 1A-3A OVAC Championship, making them back to back champions.

The boys also competed last Saturday against Trinity. In the first half, Cameron Neighoff was fouled in the box, and the Linsly Boys were given a penalty kick. Stefan Mihajlovic took the penalty kick and scored, putting Linsly up 1 to 0. The boys all worked hard, and their goalie, Andrew Skadra, continued to keep the score at 0. In the end, the boys claimed the 1A-3A OVAC Championship trophy against Trinity. Both teams worked very hard and won the OVAC Title for their school.

Congrats to both teams for their hard work!
