On Tuesday November 30th, the girls’ varsity basketball team opened up their season with a win! The ladies fought hard against the talented Union Local team, ending the game with a score of 51-44.  Leading scorers were Zaniah Zellous (17 pts.) and Carleigh Grimm (13 pts.).  Together they carried the score with the help of three-pointers made by Ally Hicks and Brooklyn Edge.  The game was close in the first half, but the Cadets began to push away from the Jets in the final quarters.  Great efforts were made by Haley Heitz and Haylen Cook on defense that created chaos for the Jets on the offensive side.  However, Union Local’s Reagan Vinskovich did score her 1000th point during the first quarter.  Fan support from both teams erupted as she hit this mark.  The Cadets won again the following Thursday and Friday, making their current record 3-0.  They had a great start to their season and will continue to work hard throughout the following weeks.  Good luck to the Lady Cadets as they continue their season!
