As the winter sports season begins, athletes have been showing off their skills. Basketball players, swimmers, and even bowlers have begun practicing and competing. This week, Liv Torner is in the spotlight as Athlete of the Week. Liv is currently a junior, and this is her second year at Linsly. She is a varsity swimmer, and is a valuable asset to the team. She participates in the 200 IM (one lap of backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle) and the 100 Fly (4 laps of butterfly). Her best times in these events are 2’20” and 1’05” respectively. She took first place in both of these races on November 18th against Wheeling Park. Liv is also a part of two relays: the 50 Fly (each person does a lap of butterfly) and the 50 Free (each person does a lap of freestyle). Again, she came in first place with her relay team against Wheeling Park. Liv has had a great season so far, and she will only impress the crowd more as the season progresses. Best of luck to Liv and the Linsly swimmers in their season!
