A Spooky Snack For This Halloween: Pretzel Rod Spider Webs

Make the atmosphere of your house a little bit more haunted with this spooky treat. Whether you’re going to a party or staying in, this treat is an adorable must-have.

The spooky snack we’re making at Linsly, West Virginia Private School, is pretzel rod spider webs, a delightful combination of sweet chocolate and candy and salty pretzels. First, you need to gather all the ingredients, which include a few sheets of parchment paper, a bag of small pretzel sticks, 2 cups of white candy melts, and ½ a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Start by placing 8 pretzel sticks in a group forming a circle. Next, melt the white candy in a microwave safe bowl or put over a double boiler and stir until melted. Let it cool, then transfer into a zip-lock bag and cut off the tip. Pipe a round dot in the center of each pretzel group then work your way out to the edges in a circular motion. Once all the webs are formed, melt the chocolate chips the same way as the white candies. Place the semi-sweet chocolate into another zip-lock bag and cut the tip. Pipe out large blobs in the center to look like spiders, then place the finished webs in the freezer or refrigerator to cool. Once the webs are cool and hardened, they are complete and ready to be eaten or served for a party!
