This past Monday, Linsly’s junior class took a trip to WesBanco Arena in downtown Wheeling for the 38th Annual Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce College Fair. Prior to leaving, the junior class created accounts on Strive Fair to generate a personal QR code to be scanned by college representatives. Students left school following their first period class on the 26th, and were back in time for their third period class.
Upon arriving, the junior class enjoyed interacting with over 50 colleges. Post-high school educational opportunities at the fair ranged from the Bella Capelli Beauty Academy to the University of Alabama. Some Linsly West Virginia private school students even took on the Army pull-up challenge and won t-shirts! Financial aid and standardized test information was also given out by the Community Foundation of the Ohio Valley. The QR codes made connecting with a college quick and easy, leaving time to ask representatives everything needed. This trip was the next step for juniors to look into their college application process.
