Becoming the Best Version of Yourself: New Linsly Leadership Program

Becoming the Best Version of Yourself: New Linsly Leadership Program

The new James F. Companion Leadership Institute, which occurs as a block period once every three days, is centered in reinforcing the Linsly mission to help individuals be the best version of themselves while ensuring Linsly students are exposed to life lessons and opportunities to grow.

Throughout a student’s time at Linsly, they will make many connections among their classmates and the faculty. All of the individuals that make up the Linsly community have impacted one another in a multitude of meaningful ways, whether it be by becoming friends with a teacher that has connections in the workforce or talking to a classmate that has gone through similar experiences. In the over two centuries of the school’s educational history, the Linsly experience has always been about individuals impacting students and nurturing those relationships for future endeavors, as well as molding students into better people that are ready to take on the world.

Thus, the leadership block was made with the idea to devote time and direct focus on building these relationships and life skills that will make the Linsly students not only better leaders but better people.

How It Will Grow

The leadership program is extremely new, therefore it is still in development. Teachers are working in collaboration with students to plan lessons that go along with what life skills they want to learn and how to make it engaging.

With time, the program is set to develop to a point where students build an e-portfolio. The portfolio will be for them to chronicle their growth throughout their time at Linsly in the Leadership program and will allow them to have a clearer vision of who they are and where they are headed after dabbling in different subjects/fields through the Leadership program.
