The Class of 2021 has had a rough final ‘hoorah,’ to say the least. The time for finding yourself and growing up; while making your last couple memories as a true kid is what senior year is all about. The college decision, however, is the first major decision that a “kid” will have to make! Emma Robinson has made her decision and is doing an excellent job preparing herself to excel at the college level. Applying “Early Action” to The Ohio State University back in October, Emma was accepted into the Fisher College of Business Program where she will be majoring in International Business, while also being granted The Morrill Scholarship. The Morrill Scholarship is awarded to academically talented students “who are actively engaged in diversity-based leadership, service, and social justice activities,” according to The Ohio State University’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Emma is currently awaiting her response from the Business Scholars Program, where she is hoping to contribute more to the community and work alongside the top business leaders at the University. Striving to be the best version of herself in her future years to come, Emma Robinson reflects on her past contributions to society that have pushed her to achieve this scholarship. “The past two years I have truly been devoted to becoming an advocate for human trafficking in doing social justice community service projects. I have volunteered with The Underground Railroad Museum and Saving Our Adolescents from Prostitution (SOAP),” Emma explains. Her exposure to these public issues has opened her eyes to worldwide problems of racism and human trafficking on another level. Let this be a little glimpse of inspiration to not only this year’s senior class, but to everyone who has a hope or dream of taking a stand for what they believe in.
