The Linsly Line highlights another student’s day at The Linsly School! This time, Annabelle Holt, a sophomore, takes us through her Monday. Annabelle is a dormer and is currently on the cross country team!
She begins her day at 7:00 by making her bed. She brushes her teeth and hair, and puts on her uniform. Annabelle then heads to the cafetorium for breakfast at 7:40.
Next, Annabelle went to her first class of the day: Ceramics! Mr. Hepburn was absent today, so Annabelle got to have a study hall. Usually, Annabelle sculpts or throws on the potter’s wheel!
Next, Annabelle went to Geometry with Ms. Cooper, where they took notes and had some time to do homework.
At 10:45, Annabelle headed to the Monday Morning Meeting for A-Block, before it was time for Dr. Caneen’s English class. In English, Annabelle read some of Act 1 in The Crucible and did a worksheet before she headed to split lunch. Annabelle usually gets a sandwich from the sandwich bar at lunch.
After English was over, Annabelle headed to Mr. Brubaker’s study hall, where she read and annotated more of The Crucible for English.
Last class of the day, Annabelle had Chemistry with Mrs. Harvey. She did a worksheet on converting units, like inches to feet, then feet to yards. That ended Annabelle’s school day, but she had a busy afternoon ahead!
Annabelle has cross country practice at 3:30, so she went to her dorm and got ready. Monday through Friday, she has cross country practice. On Saturdays and occasionally a weekday, Annabelle will usually have a meet, where she runs a 5k as fast as she can. This day, she had a long run, which was about 50 minutes at a conversational pace.
After practice wraps up around 5, Annabelle freshens up for dinner and heads to the cafetorium. For dinner tonight, Annabelle got to choose from several things, like a chicken and waffle sandwich or spaghetti with meatballs.
Once Annabelle finishes at dinner, she goes to Yost Dorm to hang out with some of her friends! But not for too long, because Annabelle has study hall at Merriman Hall from 8 to 9.
After study hall, Annabelle gets ready for bed and likes to spend some time talking with her friends before heading to bed at 10:30-11.
