On February 13, 2026, students from The Linsly School had the opportunity to be part of something truly unforgettable, serving at Night to Shine, an annual prom night experience sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and locally hosted by the Limestone Presbyterian Church.
Held the Friday before Valentine’s Day each year, Night to Shine is a worldwide celebration honoring individuals with special needs. Across the globe, churches and communities host this incredible event, creating a prom experience centered on joy, dignity, and inclusion.
Linsly students volunteered in a variety of roles throughout the evening. Some served as “buddies,” paired one-on-one with honored guests to walk the red carpet, dance, enjoy dinner, and take photos together. Others helped with decorations, set-up and clean-up, registration, and cheering guests on as they arrived.
For many volunteers, the most impactful part of the evening was the relationships formed. What began as a service opportunity quickly became something deeper. Students shared laughs on the dance floor, posed for silly pictures, and listened to stories from their buddies. The joy in the room was contagious, and it didn’t take long to realize that the volunteers were receiving just as much as they were giving.
Night to Shine reflects values that are deeply rooted in the Linsly community: compassion, leadership, and service. By stepping outside their comfort zones and giving their time on a Friday night, Linsly students demonstrated what it means to lead with heart.
As the evening ended with smiles and laughs, one thing was certain: February 13, 2026, was a night that will not be forgotten. For the students of Linsly, volunteering at Night to Shine was more than community service hours—it was a powerful reminder that everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and celebrated.
