As Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, the Linsly Line wants to highlight two teachers with the longest and newest marriages. Mr. Phillips and his wife are celebrating their first Valentines together, and Mr. Brubaker and his wife are celebrating their 40th Valentine’s day together.
Mr. Brubaker recently celebrated his 40th anniversary with his wife and still celebrates Valentine’s day each year. Mr. Brubaker says he plans to get a heart shaped pizza from DeFelice and a heart shaped cake to share with his wife. In their free time, they both enjoy spending time together doing things like hiking, kayaking and, traveling. Their favorite restaurant to dine at is Later Gator in Downtown Wheeling. Mr. Brubaker met his wife when he was coaching a swim team and was introduced to her by a swim parent.

On the other hand, Mr. Phillips, who recently just got married this fall, will be celebrating his first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. Mr. Phillips says he plans to buy his wife flowers, chocolate covered strawberries as well as going out to eat and to watch scary movies in theatres. When they are not teaching, they like to spend time with their dogs, cook together, play board games and mini golf, and watch a good TV show at night. Mr. Phillips says he met his wife while working at the Prince William County School district and a friend introduced them.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
