Harvesting Memories: What Students Did Over Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break allows students to relax, spend time with loved ones, and make memories. Freshman, Maria Martin Sanchez, visited Luchia and Dominic Fato over the break, where they had fun ice skating, getting pedicures, watching Moana 2, and enjoying Thanksgiving dinner.

Maria expresses, “I’m very grateful to be able to experience this very beautiful tradition.”

Sophomore, Noa Guevara Moreno, traveled to Cancun with friends. They stayed in a hotel and then at her friend, Andrea Moreno’s parent’s house. They snorkeled, explored ruins, and relaxed on a beach in Tulum while enjoying tasty Mexican food.

Junior, Sancho Zenicazelaya, returned to his home country, Nassau, Bahamas. While he was there, Sancho enjoyed Jollification, a festival celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas while supporting small businesses. He spent time with his lifelong friends, visited resorts, and enjoyed a feast with his family.

Sancho states, “To be back with my family, and friends, and back in my home country was a blessing.”

These stories show how students from different backgrounds celebrate Thanksgiving in various ways, highlighting the importance of family, friends, and gratitude.
