Literature Fair

Last week, on October 9th and 11th, the Linsly School held its second annual Literature Fair with students from 5th to 12th grade participating. Participation is voluntary, and anyone in those grades can enter a project. This year, the judges included Mrs. Lestini and Mr. Brubaker. They were looking for creativity, grammar, and whether the project sparked interest from other students. There was also a checklist of items students had to have on their poster; which included basic information about the book, a summary, and the author’s purpose for writing the novel. The fair showcased projects the students made for both fiction and nonfiction literature.

The winners included Gus Goodman, Jaxson Baker, and Colton Scherich for the 5th grade category. For the 6th – 8th fiction projects, Bella Lombard, Nevaeh Ransom, and Josh Lohri won, and in the 6th – 8th nonfiction category, Lorelai Higginbottom took the title. For the 9th – 12th fiction projects, Aubrey Dunkin and Chenbin Ren won. These winners will all participate in the Regional Literature Fair on November 2nd at West Liberty University.
