Last week, the 8th grade class went on the annual trip to Washington DC. This was an incredible experience for the students, and they got to visit some of the most famous monuments and historical buildings in the United States. These include: The White House, The Lincoln Memorial, U.S. Capitol tour, National Archives Building, U.S. Air Force Memorial, Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery: Kennedy graves, Challenger/Columbia Memorials, Audie Murphy gravesite, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Smithsonians – Natural History Museum, Washington Monument, MLK – FDR & Jefferson Memorials, U.S. Marine Corps Memorial, Ford’s Theatre Museum, Petersen House, WWII– Vietnam—Lincoln & Korean Memorials. Each day the students were up at 6:15am and were out until almost 10pm. They had a packed schedule for this three day trip, for it was filled with learning and excitement!
Ariah Zervos, an 8th grade student states, “all students should experience this trip and nothing else compares to it.” Overall, it is an amazing experience for the 8th graders, and each upcoming 8th grade class looks forward to the trip every year!
