A Night At The Capitol

A Night At The Capitol

A few weekends ago, on October 14th, members of the Linsly school performed at the A Special Wish Lip Sync Challenge. This event was held at the Capitol Theater. Mrs. Ridenhour captivated the audience with her amazing lip syncing and dancing skills. Not only did she perform two separate songs with two separate dances, she also memorized them. This took weeks of practice during and after school to nail her two routines. Mrs. Ridenhour worked very hard to emulate Meghan Trainor and Madonna. Both routines included multiple songs from each artist. The Meghan Trainor mashup included backup dancers that attend the Linsly school. These dancers who helped bring the routine to life include: Avery Gilman, Jessica Lehrke, Noelle Murray, and Reese Maroney. These girls practiced for a month after school each week and during school. The Madonna routine also included backup dancers. These boys worked very hard and even lifted up Mrs. Ridenhour. This group of boys who performed were Raymond Kovalesky, Julian Fischer, Luis Wade, Jack Selmon, Vinny Zaccirey, and Kevin Stanisi. This group worked diligently to comprehend the routine. They were pushed outside of their comfort zone, which made the performance that much more special to see them shine and work together for an amazing cause. A highlight from the night was watching the boys perform in the Madonna mashup and “sway”. The boys, girls, and Mrs. Ridenhour all came together to make it an extra special night. The community enjoyed each performance and watched Mrs. Ridenhour shine on stage. The smiles made that night will last a lifetime. Both Mrs. Bond and Mrs. Cooper helped choreograph each routine. Without them being a major help behind the scenes, the night would not have been as enjoyable as it was. Coming together as one to help raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation was the most special part of the night!
