Spooky Movie Special Review: Hubie Halloween

Disclaimer: This movie is rated PG-13, and it may not be suitable for all audiences at Linsly due to “crude and suggestive content, language, and brief teen partying.”

It is spooky season, and a lot of buzz is generating around this new Netflix Halloween movie: Hubie Halloween. If you like Adam Sandler, then this movie is for you! This movie is centered around Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts, an escaped psycho, and Hubie DuBois, a friendly and kind man who is passionate about Halloween safety and bullied by his fellow townspeople.

This movie is packed full of familiar faces, including Adam Sandler, Noah Schnapp, Karan Brar, China Anne McClain, Kevin James, Maya Rudolph, Steve Buscemi, Shaquille O’Neal, and more! With tons of hilarious cameos, this movie is constantly making you ask, Who will show up next?

While some may call the comedy used in this film childish, slap-stick comedy can be just what you need to release your stress and have a good laugh. I consider this movie a spoof of the stereotypical suspenseful horror movie, and you have to take it for what it is. Simple at times, yes. With its Halloween themes, star-studded cast, and classic comedy, this movie can be an all-around crowd pleaser!
