This past week both the Linsly Girls and Boys soccer teams competed for the 1A-3A OVAC title. The boys team played last Thursday in the semi-finals against Wheeling Central. They fought for a long ninety minutes and went into two overtimes. The score was one to one until the last minute of the second overtime where Central got a break away and scored the final goal. The Linsly boys team worked hard the entire time, but sadly they fell just short of getting to go to OVAC finals.
The girls soccer team played against Steubenville Central Catholic last Tuesday for the semi finals and won with a score of five to three. Then, on Saturday, the girls played in the 1A-3A OVAC Championship. They played against Wheeling Central and won with a score of four to two. The Linsly girls soccer team has now won the 1A-3A OVAC Championship three times in a row and is the first 1A-3A school to 3peat. Overall it was a great week for Linsly soccer. Congratulations to the boys making it to the semi-finals and the girls winning the championship!
