Saturday, August 26th, the Linsly Pep-Band played at the first home football game of the season. The band started off at 12:15 with a march to the tailgate. They then played some of their stand tunes, such as “Go Cadets Go” and “Linsly Fight Song”, for the students and parents who had gathered. The band’s participation in the pre-game festivities really got the crowd energized for the game!
The pep-band then joined the cheerleaders on the field to form a tunnel to funnel the football players onto their home field. Linsly’s band director, Mr. Cody Morgan, also performed a solo of “The Star-Spangled Banner” to kick off the game. Throughout the game, Linsly’s pep-band played a number of stand tunes to accompany the cheerleaders, encourage student involvement, and support the athletes.
The Pep-band plans to play at three additional football games this season, including the Homecoming game! This is an exciting lineup as the pep-band has grown substantially this year. Please come out and show your school spirit!
