The Linsly Girls Varsity Track team competed in the 3A division within the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference on Saturday, May 6th in the St. Clairsville Red Devils stadium. The girls took home third place with Barnesville and Magnolia stealing first and second place. All field events, relay teams, and individual events contributed to this outcome as well as the amazing support from the rest of the team and our lovely coaches and parents. It was an impressive season for these girls as they had multiple girls break long-standing Linsly track records. Star sophomore Haylen Cook broke the three hundred hurdle record running a time of 49.26. Senior captain Caitlin Lewis jumped an impressive eight feet to break Linsly’s pole vault record. And last but certainly not least, Elle Ranney, a continuous asset to the team’s field events, continued to make and break her own school record all season long in shot put. Finally, Elle ended the season throwing an distance of 37’ 1.5 feet in shot put. The senior girls on the team will miss the energy of the team greatly and wish next years team all the best next season! Congratulations on all of the hard work girls!
