Girls Basketball Ends Their Season With a Victory

The Linsly Girls basketball season ended on a high note with the Varsity girls defeating Wheeling Central Catholic 72-48! Linsly’s top scorers for this matchup were sophomore Haylen Cook scoring 29 points and junior Miriam Martínez right behind with 27 points. Finally, the girls concluded their season with a record of 11-12.

Head Coach Rebecca Upton explains:

We had a lot of challenges this season with injuries, holiday travel and our super competitive schedule. However, this group was so much fun to have every day in practice and worked so hard. We improved both as a team and as individuals and the future is bright. I also want to thank all four seniors for the hard work and dedication to the team. We will miss you!

The top scorer for the whole season was sophomore Haylen Cook with 353 points and an average of 16 points per game. The top rebounder was Miriam Martínez with 151 rebounds, and Haylen Cook had the most assists with 42 throughout the season.
