Last Friday, the 11th, our Upper School hosted the first volleyball powderpuff tournament. It was an exhilarating event to watch and participate in. We started off the night with all the teams warming up for fun on the court. The teams played together and worked hard to achieve the win.
We started the bracket with freshman and sophomores versus the juniors. The game was well fought with the younger kids ending up behind 12-20. Next the bracket moved to the juniors versus the seniors. This game was held down by the juniors with a steady lead of 8 points. The last game of bracket play was the freshman and sophomore team versus the seniors, which started with a strong lead by the seniors, but the freshman and sophomore team fought back with Vinnie Zachary serving nine points in a row. Eventually, the seniors won with a lead of three points.
Lastly, the juniors and seniors faced off in the playoffs for one final tough game. This time the seniors held their own much better than their first face off with the juniors, ending in a 17-20 match. We hope to continue this in the upcoming years, hopefully with more of a turn-up for the team.
