On October 14th, Linsly held their 2022 Homecoming Game at the West Family Stadium at West Liberty University. At halftime, each girl was escorted by their parents and family, and had their achievements announced while they traversed down the field. Once every girl walked down the field, a box of roses was passed around. Whoever chose an odd color rose was to be crowned queen.
This year, Linsly’s homecoming queen is Sharon Aristizabal. She was crowned by last year’s queen, Juanita Garcia.
Below are the bios of the girls:
Sharon Aristizabal
Sharon Aristizabal is the daughter of Sandra and Jose. She was born in Colombia and lives in New Jersey but has been part of the boarding community for four years. She serves as a Prefect as well as a Residential Assistant in the dorms. Sharon has been part of multiple Linsly sports including Volleyball, Swimming, Bowling, and Track. She is also part of the National Honor Society and Linsly’s Admission Ambassador Club and recently received the Nation Hispanic Recognition Award from College Board. Sharon plans to major in Aerospace Engineering at an undecided college. Today she is being escorted by Mr. and Mrs. Wallace.
Sara Campsey
Sara Campsey is the daughter of Katie and Mike Campsey. Her sisters Emma and Maddie are both recent Linsly graduates. Sara has been a Junior and Senior prefect, where she serves as co-head of the Student life committee. She has been a member of the National Honors Society, German club, and the Linsly line for three years. She also was co-captain of the Varsity soccer team her junior and senior year and has played for four years. Sara plans to major in Health Services once at the university of her choice. She is escorted by her parents.
Chyanne DeLong
Chyanne DeLong is the daughter of Doug and Mai DeLong. She has attended Linsly as a boarding student for four years and serves as a resident assistant. She has participated in volleyball, bowling, golf, and has managed track. She has also been a member of the SADD Club, French club, Cultural Club, and is a member of the National Honor Society and French National Honor Society. Chyanne has been a prefect for two years and is currently a co-chair of the community service committee. She is a volunteer at the Belpre Oncology Center and also works as a camp counselor during the summer months. Chyanne plans to study Medical Anthropology or Neuroscience at an undecided college. Chyanne is being escorted today by her parents.
Celia Demarchi
Celia Demarchi is the daughter of Justin and Colleen Demarchi of Belmont, Ohio. She has a younger brother, Vinny, who is an eighth grader at Linsly. Celia is a two-year captain of the Linsly Girls Volleyball team and a four year letter winner. She was selected to the OVAC all conference team for her Junior Year. Celia has also played club volleyball for the Ohio Valley Volleyball Company for 3 years. She was a member of the Linsly varsity basketball team her freshman year. Celia has served as a junior and senior prefect and is currently one of the heads of the community service committee. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society. Celia is a member of the SADD Club and 2nd and 7. She is a member of St. Mary’s Church in St. Clairsville where she has served as an acolyte. Celia plans to attend college next fall with a major in education.
Giana Falbo
Giana Falbo is the daughter of Jon and Jennifer Falbo of St. Clairsville, Ohio. Giana has attended Linsly since the sixth grade. Both her sister, Hannah, and brother, Jon-Michael, are Linsly graduates. Giana serves as president of the senior class and is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and four-year member of the French National Honor Society, where she received commendations for her performance on both state- and national- level French exams. Giana is also a two-year prefect – serving on the Volunteering committee and as co-chair of the Community Service committee. Throughout her high school career, Giana has been a member of the following clubs and organizations: French Club, SADD, Minding Your Mind, 2nd and 7, and the Career Exploration and Political Awareness clubs. She is also a member of the yearbook staff and is the Head Editor of the Linsly Line. Giana has been a varsity cheerleader all four years of her high school career. earning seven varsity letters in that sport. During her junior year, Giana was a member of the OVAC competition cheer team and was chosen as the recipient of the Coaches Award. She now leads the cheer team as a senior captain. Giana is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio. In her free time, Giana volunteers for the Wheeling Symphony program. At this time, Giana is undecided as to where she will attend college but plans to pursue a career in medicine.
Kelsey Glessner
Kelsey Glessner is the daughter of Gary and Missy Glessner of Valley Grove, West Virginia. Her sister, Sydney, is a 2021 graduate. Kelsey has been a Junior and Senior prefect, and she currently serves as co-head of the Academic Committee. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society. She is an editor of the Linsly Line newspaper and runs the club, “2nd and 7” with another classmate. Kelsey has loved the years she has spent as a Varsity member of the Linsly Cheerleading squad and the Track and Field Team. Kelsey serves as a second year cheerleading captain and she served as a track captain. One of Kelsey’s favorite cheerleading memories was winning her freshman year OVAC cheer competition. Kelsey has danced at Oglebay Institute School of Dance for sixteen years, where she teaches a cheerleading class to younger students. She has volunteered for the Wheeling Symphony for four years and the Peterson Rehabilitation Center where she makes decorations for patients and assists in a Parkinson’s Disease physical therapy class. Kelsey hopes to attend Clemson University to study animal and veterinary sciences, while continuing her love for art and dance.
Megan Maroney
Megan Maroney is the daughter of Kim Maroney of Wheeling, West Virginia and Mike Maroney of Glen Dale, West Virginia. She has attended Linsly since the 6th grade. Megan was a junior prefect, and is currently a senior prefect, where she serves as co-chair of the Student Life committee. Megan is also a 3 year member of the National Honor Society and a 4 year member of the French National Honor Society. She has also been a part of the French Club since her freshman year. Megan is a varsity member of the football cheer team, as well as a captain for both the OVACs cheer competition team and the varsity basketball cheer team. Outside of school, Megan has spent the past four years as a volunteer for the Wheeling Symphony. She has also volunteered at Wheeling’s Sexual Assault Help Center. Once at the university of her choice, Megan plans to major in chemistry with hopes to pursue a career in orthodontics. Megan is escorted by her mother Kim and her brother Matthew Maroney.
Liv Torner
Liv Torner is the daughter of Sven Torner and Jill Vincent Torner. Liv is from Langenfeld, Germany and this is her third year at Linsly. Liv has been on the swim and track team since sophomore year and lettered every season. She was a part of the Linsly 2021 OVAC champion girls track team winning gold with her 4×400 relay and silver for both the 4×800 and the individual 800. For her senior year, Liv joined the golf team.
Liv has been a member of the National Honor society and Spanish honor society since her Junior Year. She has served as a residential assistant the past year and is now Head Resident Assistant for the Linsly Boarding Apartment. Liv is planning on attending college in Europe to major in international business. Tonight, Liv is escorted by Mr. and Mrs. Zatezalo.

Homecoming Game
The Linsly Varsity football team hosted Dover High School at West Liberty University last Friday night. The game’s score was constantly back and forth with Dover being up by 7 then Linsly with many key plays to secure them their sixth win of the season. In the first quarter, Jy’Leik Johnson lit up the stadium as he returned a 96 yard kickoff for a cadets touchdown to even the score 7-7. With 30 seconds left in the second quarter, Alex Taylor rushed into the end zone for another touchdown making the score 13-7 at half. Dover responded with two touchdowns in the third quarter which made the score 20-13. Later in the fourth quarter, Taylor took a hand off from QB Atley Cowan and got in the end zone to put the Cadets one point behind the Tornadoes. Linsly got a crucial roughing the kicker call on the missed PAT and went for a two point conversion with just 28 seconds left on the clock. Luca DiLorenzo bulldozes through Dover players with the help of many teammates and converts to set the Cadets up 21-20. On the final plays of the game, John Paul Jones made a game securing interception and allowed Linsly to take the win.
