As the year pulls towards its end, it is a tradition for the artists of The Linsly School to come together and display their talent in the spring concert and art show. This event exhibits students’ work from fifth to twelfth grade and recognizes the hard work that both students and teachers put in to make this show happen.
This year, however, was extra special. We said our final goodbyes to many of our fine arts teachers. Mrs. Foose, Mr. Maclellan, and Mrs. Soloninka received standing ovations for all of the years they have spent here at this school, and for everything they did for the fine arts department to be as talented as it is today.
The concert itself was filled with whimsical tunes sure to make one smile. The middle school and high school chorus classes did a wonderful job bringing the spring feeling into the cafeteria, and the band started and finished off incredibly strong with their song collections. For the first time ever, the concert finished off with a fashion show which consisted of the creative paper plate dresses that the 8th grade STEAM group put together. It was charming to see them displayed, and all of them looked quite impressive. Overall, the concert was a job well done!
The art show took place down in the Williams Visual Art Center, and it displayed all of the diverse artwork from the entire school. From the fifth-grade art class to advanced ceramics, each class had something magnificent to display. It was an important night for everyone involved, and many eyes gazed onto the walls and tables to look at all of the pieces.
The entire show had an exciting buzz in the atmosphere, and many visitors were left in awe by the amount of talent shown that Wednesday evening. Although it may be the last for some of our teachers, Linsly students made sure they left with a good memory in mind. To all of the leaving faculty and staff, and also our seniors, we will miss you dearly. Thank you for all of your dedication to this school.
