Linsly’s girl’s tennis team may be the most successful sports team at Linsly due to their great success within the OVAC conference. Coached by Mr. Riethmiller and Mrs. Allison, the team proved their worth this past season by winning their 11th consecutive OVAC championship title. Leading them to their impressive feat were seniors Rachel Ekanem (team captain), and Juanita Garcia. Rachel Ekanem helped to provide the winning tie-breaker match by beating University in a competitive battle. Everyone on the team is thankful for her dedication and talent in the game. The players on the team enjoy the lightheartedness and fun atmosphere of being with their teammates, while also knowing they can be serious and work hard when it comes time. Junior Sofia Robertson expresses her gratitude for the team:
I am so honored to be associated with this wonderful, hardworking team of varsity girls’ tennis, and could not have asked for a better team to win OVACS with. I think we definitely deserve this after all of our hard work and dedication, both to the sport and to each other.
