Lower School Students Shine: Declamation Contest Returns To Linsly

On Thursday, April 28th, 20 Linsly middle school students participated in the annual John Mitchell Birch Declamation contest, held in the school library. Unfortunately, this contest was cancelled last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but the students were thrilled to be back to recite all of their declamation pieces they worked so hard to memorize. These 20 students, 5 from each grade, recited their poems in front of a crowd, and were considered by 3 judges, all of whom are English teachers here at Linsly.

In the 5th and 6th grade division, Luchia Fato was awarded first place. Adam Zatezalo came in second place, and in third place was Lorelai Higginbottom.

Representing the 7th and 8th grade, May Devine took 1st place, Sophie Toma took 2nd place, and in third place was Reese Maroney.

Congratulations to all of the winners on their amazing achievement!
