Bleeding Disorder Awareness: Linsly Goes Red to Support This Cause

On Thursday, October 7th, Linsly 8th graders Analise Baker and Sophie Toma, along with the rest of the Middle School Leadership Council, held a fundraising dress down day. This fundraiser was to raise awareness and funds for the Western Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundation. This organization helps families in the area get medicines and treatments for people who have been diagnosed with hemophilia. Students were advised to wear red to show their support, and while the minimum donation to wear dress down and wear red was $1, donations of any amount were accepted.

“My brother has hemophilia, and this is the chapter we go to.” Baker stated when asked how this fundraiser personally impacts her. The Western Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundation also helped out families that had suffered from job losses due to Covid-19. The foundation assisted them by getting food for anyone who needed it, along with the providing the medicine to help the patient with a bleeding disorder of the family. For everyone at Linsly to come together and donate for a good cause was something that was so fascinating to watch! In conclusion, this fundraiser raised $948.05 for this foundation. The MSLC expresses their thanks to everyone who participated.
