Senior Liza Fletcher has participated in SADD and German club for two years. She also has thrown shot put for the track team for three years. Liza has achieved many awards that include; Most Valuable in the Field (freshman year), Shot Put school record (sophomore year), German Honor Society (freshman and sophomore year), and National Honors Society (junior year). Liza has had many work experiences such as working in the nursery at her church, the Vineyard, and babysitting. Liza’s favorite Linsly memory is being apart of the Extravaganza. She loves how the Extravaganza is something unique to our school and how it contributes to Linsly’s strong sense of community. Another reason why Liza loves the Extravaganza is because she enjoys learning new dances every year with her friends. Liza’s most important mentor from her time at The Linsly School was the former track and field throwing coach, Mr. Youngblood. Liza believes that Mr. Youngblood always pushed her into the direction of success and that he showed her how she could reach her full potential. Along with being an outstanding throwing coach to Liza, Mr. Youngblood also taught her a lot about decision making. Liza is not sure about where she plans to attend college, but she knows that she will attend a 4-year university. Although Liza is undecided, she wants to major in business or finance to become a real estate developer. Liza’s advice for future Linsly students deals with managing workload.
“My advice would be to learn a way that works best for you to manage your time efficiently. As long as you divide your work into manageable sections you will find that it is much easier to complete.”
