How to Keep New Year’s Resolutions Alive!

As the New Year is here, many of us set resolutions whether big or small. While making New Year’s resolutions can be easy, sticking to them is often a lot harder. In fact, many people struggle to follow through on their goals, and there’s even a day dedicated to recognizing this, it’s called Quitters Day. Quitters Day is the day when most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions, typically by the second Friday of January. Research shows that 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by Quitters Day. This day highlights the reality that many people don’t achieve their goals. This year can be the year you keep your resolutions, here are some practical tips to help you stay on track!

  1. Make your resolutions meaningful: The more meaningful your resolution is, the more likely
you are to stick with it. Take some time to think about why your goal matters to you.
  2. Set realistic, specific goals: Be specific about what you want to achieve, and make sure
your goals are able to achieve.
  3. Create a plan: To stick with your resolution, create a clear plan of action to stick to.
  4. Celebrate small wins: Celebrate the small victories along the way as well as feel proud of your
    progress made.
  5. Stay positive: Challenges will come, and you may face challenges along the way. It’s easy to
get upset, but staying positive is key. Instead of focusing on what you haven’t achieved yet,
focus on how far you’ve come.
  6. Take it step by step: Don’t rush your goals. Progress takes time, and significant changes
    don’t happen overnight.

As you work on your goals this year, remember to take it one step at a time. The Linsly Line is wishes everyone a great rest of their winter break with these new resolutions in action!
