Last week, the Linsly community came together to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! The BCRF’s mission is to fund research for breast cancer, and it is the highest rated breast cancer research organization in the United States.
The Linsly prefects decided to create a fundraiser to raise money for Breast Cancer because October is breast cancer awareness month. The fundraiser consisted of the participation of the whole school, with grades pairing up with one another. The grade pairs had a business casual dress down on their corresponding day to raise money. The business casual dress consisted of wearing the uniform bottoms with a pink top, shoes, and socks of their choice! The grade pair that raised the most money will receive a special lunch in the upcoming week.
The winners of the Breast Cancer Fundraiser were the grade pair of seniors and sixth graders! Together they raised $357 for the Cancer Research Foundation. All together the students raised nearly $970!
Thank you to all who participated in this dressdown to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research!
