The advisory period has underwent a big change this year; what was once a 10 minute meeting every morning is now a 90 minute get-together at the middle of the day, and teachers and students have had to come up with new ideas and activities to make the period memorable. Every advisory has had to fill the new time, but Mrs. Martin’s advisory group has found a new activity to entertain themselves.
Mrs. Martin’s advisory is composed of 11 seniors, many of whom have been in her advisory since middle school. Everyone has taken to the sport Spikeball, a mashup of volleyball and tennis, which can often and easily take up an hour for this active group. They have even hosted an inter-advisor tournament against Mr. Kiedaisch’s advisees, which was won by students Hunter Kelley and Zac Taylor. Now, other advisory groups have taken to playing the sport, and it has become a trend at Linsly!
