A dress down day fundraiser was held at Linsly private school to help raise money for a local boy, Jaymison, who is battling childhood cancer. Jaymison was diagnosed with Pineoblastoma, a very rare form of cancer, on October 9, 2020. He has gone through multiple operations and treatments for his rare form of cancer. A few girls at Linsly, including Bella, Lourdes, and Sydney, put together the fundraiser to help Jaymison’s family with the costs of his treatments and anything his family needs. The dress down day was held on April 1st, and students were asked to wear as much of the color yellow or gold as they could, because this color represents Jaymison’s type of cancer. Students were also asked to bring a minimum of $2 dollars to donate towards Jaymison’s family. Along with the dress down day, the Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship class was able to sell cookies at the breakfast bar, which raised 50 dollars. Overall, the school was able to collect over $1500 dollars to donate to Jaymison and his family.
